Japanese diet

Why the diet is called Japanese is difficult to say - half of the foods recommended for eating are exotic for the Japanese.

Japanese diet dish

The experience of my sitting on diets is such that I would hardly voluntarily resort to this means of self-torture. If not for one "but": I personally saw the results of two weeks of sitting on a "Japanese" diet. Just like in the magazine: "before" and "after". Still, the principle in matters of beauty and health works, perhaps, best.

Why the diet is called Japanese is difficult to say - half of the foods recommended for eating are exotic for the Japanese. According to legend, the diet was developed by the specialists of the Japanese clinic "Yaeks", but no other traces of this office were found on the English-speaking Internet.

Lyrically sentimental digression

I must say that I admire the courage of people who are able to feel the weight loss recipe found on the net and immediately try it on themselves. I myself am wary of diets. Life brought me together with them twice.

For the first time - in a severe form, when in the mountains I caught some kind of stomach infection, and for three weeks being at an altitude of 3000 meters, I simply could not eat: everything immediately asked to come back. The second time was when I decided to limit my diet to 1000 calories per day. For almost a month, my diet consisted of morning coffee with ice cream, which is handy for lunch, and of frozen vegetables for dinner. I learned that the diet should be balanced much later.

So the first question I asked was: How balanced is the Japanese diet? "More or less, but there are not enough amino acids, " a biochemist friend replied, "you’ll be spiteful - horror with a gun". His fears about my hypothetical heightened viciousness did not materialize. For the first two days, the body was suppressed by the sudden disappearance of normal food from his life. And realizing that this was for a long time, but not forever, he became quiet and indifferent.

Charm and disappointment

As it happens in the course of each experiment on myself, I have accumulated a list of charms and disappointments. Or rather, the inconveniences and pleasures of the diet.

Inconvenience # 1

The diet is strict. Because, according to its authors, it is designed to change the metabolism. Therefore, the slightest deviation from the course (even a crouton, even an apple) - and the expected effect is not guaranteed. And this is what is expected: parting with 5 - 8 kilograms and weight stabilization in the future.

Inconvenience # 2

It is very difficult to come to a business lunch and flirtatiously ask for me, please, two hard-boiled eggs and 200 grams of grated carrots. Usually such requests remain unfulfilled. Therefore, you will have to carry all the provisions with you in your purse. And, most likely, prepare diet meals the day before.

Pleasant number 1

13 days on the Japanese diet will cost you about 2 times less than daily business lunches or lunch at work. And even more so - the purchase of food for the home.

Pleasant number 2

In general, it is better not to start a strict diet if at least half of the foods it consists of are unpleasant to you. And since I eat with great enthusiasm in "normal life" and fish, and boiled beef, and carrots, and kefir, and cabbage, then to see them on my table was, frankly speaking, joyful.

Many people ask questions about drinking coffee every morning - isn't it harmful? If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, then coffee can have an adverse effect. And before starting a Japanese diet, it is worth consulting your doctor.

Full range of sensations

In the first two days of diet, a vision haunted me: as soon as I closed my eyes, a thinly baked pancake appeared before my inner gaze, spontaneously rolling into a tube. Then someone kindly dipped it in strawberry jam and brought it to my face. There were no olfactory hallucinations. After chasing me for two days, the pancake fell behind.

A stony indifference and a calm attitude to culinary delights set in, which has lasted to this day. This does not mean that I will harshly refuse if I am offered to try something tasty. But the nervous tremors from the fact that "there is so much food over there" is no longer observed.

I didn't throw off so much - only 4 kilos, but the weight is not gaining back. I don't know who to thank for this: the developers of the Japanese diet or myself - for doing sports twice a week. The only detail: during the diet, you noticeably weaken, and towards the end it becomes problematic to open an unopened bottle of mineral water. But then strength is quickly restored.
